Abstract

An account has already been given of the standardization of photoelectric cells for the measurement of daylight (Poole and Atkins 1935) and of the recording of daylight using a Burt vacuum sodium cell and Cambridge thread recorder (Atkins and Poole 1936). It was shown that the measurements relate to the ultra-violet, violet and blue, but are chiefly an indication of the changes in light of wave-length about 0·41 μ , a region in which the eye is of very low sensitivity.
