On the spectrum of bromine in different stages of ionisation

Abstract

The spectra of elements belonging to the halogen group have been investigated by many workers during recent years in their successive stages of ionisa­tion. Systematic classification of bromine lines has not yet been done, though there is plenty of experimental work. In the arc spectrum, Turner ( loc. cit .) got only the fundamental lines. For the spark spectrum, Bloch has separated the groups belonging to the different stages of ionisation from λ 2200 Å. to λ 6000 Å., though he did not attempt any classification.
