Abstract

The first Collembola from the Solomons appear to be those collected by J. D. Bradley, British Museum (Natural History) in 1954. The first published record of Collembola in the Solomons, by Yosii (1960) is based on thirty-six specimens. The Expedition collections have been studied with those made by Dr and Mrs P. J. M. Greenslade, the Zoological Museum, Copenhagen, and the Bernice P. Bishop Museum, Hawaii which together number over 50 000 specimens.
