Abstract
In order to test the design and functioning of a selective chopper radiometer for remote sounding of atmospheric temperature, a balloon-borne radiometer has been built and flown. Temperatures measured with radiometers employing techniques of (
a
) selective absorption, (
b
) selective chopping, compared satisfactorily with temperatures predicted from radiosonde information.
