Abstract
The rotational absorption spectrum of nitrogen trifluoride has been measured in the range 10 to 50 cm
-1
. Although the
K
components of the
J
lines have not been resolved, an analysis has been made of the expected intensity distribution of (
J, K
) lines for this oblate symmetric top, and it has been shown that the spectrum is consistent with that to be expected from molecular constants derived from a few observed lines in the microwave spectrum.
