Investigation of the surfaces of the Moon and planets by means of thermal radiation

Author:

Abstract

In this paper an attempt is made to summarize the numerous data, experimental and theoretical, of the investigation of the surfaces of the Moon and the planets based on their thermal radiation, and to consider them from a common standpoint stemming from the physical principles of this study. Accordingly, in the first section the theory is briefly set forth of the methods for investigating the properties of planetary material. In the second section are given the concrete results obtained by their application to the emission of the Moon.
