Abstract
In a gravity-free environment, and in the absence of radiation, heat transfer in a fluid medium is effected by pure diffusion. However, with a small but fluctuating gravitational field, characteristic of
g
-jitter, this situation may change. Such a field produces a fluctuating body force if density gradients are present. This results in a fluid flow with both fluctuating and time-independent components. The present investigation is centred upon the heat transfer from a sphere, maintained at a constant temperature, in the presence of
g
-jitter.
