Abstract

Ilford G5 emulsions have been exposed to 600 MeV protons emerging from the Birmingham synchrotron. A mean free path for nuclear interaction of 33·7 +3·0 -2·7 cm was obtained. The size distribution of the stars is given and compared with that obtained with 400 and 1000 MeV protons incident on emulsion.
