Studies of nuclear collisions involving 8 MeV deuterons by the photographic method V. Angular distributions of charged particles from the bombardment of nitrogen and argon

Abstract

A technique described in earlier papers has been applied to the study of the nuclear processes which take place when nitrogen and argon are bombarded by 8 MeV deuterons. Angular distributions have been measured for the elastically scattered deuterons, for two groups of α-particles from the reaction 14 N( d , α) 12 C, for six groups of protons from the reaction 14 N( d,p ) 15 N, and for three groups of protons from the reaction 40 A ( d, p ) 41 A. Some information about the spins and parities of the various energy states of the nuclei produced in the ( d, p ) reactions has been obtained from the results.
