Abstract
Electrometric titrations have been carried out in molten salt media. An equimolar KNO

. The effect of temperature on the solubility was also studied and heats, free energies and entropies of solution in the melt solvent have been calculated. The process of solution in an ionic melt solvent is discussed. It is suggested that the simple Born theory of solvation is more applicable to a solution in a melt than in an aqueous medium.
