Abstract
In continuation of the work reported in the first paper of this series the electrical resistivity of beryllium, magnesium, calcium, strontium and barium has been investigated in detail in the temperature region below 20
°
K. In most cases the resistance was also determined in the range up to liquid-air temperatures in order to obtain estimates of the Debye characteristic temperatures, which are compared with data obtained by other methods. A striking feature is the occurrence of a pronounced minimum in the resistance of magnesium below 10
°
K which was exhibited by all four specimens investigated.
