Abstract
In the current study, Morinda citrifolia extract was loaded into gelatin-based electrospun scaffolds to treat diabetic wounds. The produced scaffolds were characterized in vitro using electron microscopy, cell culture studies, antimicrobial assessment, tensile strength
assay, and water uptake capacity measurements. Wound healing function of these dressings was evaluated in a rat model of diabetic wound. Study showed that Morinda citrifolia extract-loaded wound dressings promoted diabetic wound healing by increasing wound size reduction rate and collagen
deposition.
