Abstract

Objective: The postoperative complications of minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) should not be ignored. The aim of this study is to explore the application value of enhanced recovery (ER) concept in PCNL. Method: A retrospective analysis was made of 60 patients with renal and upper ureteral calculi admitted to our hospital from March 2019 to December 2019. According to different treatment measures, they were divided into two groups: ER group (n = 30) and traditional group (n = 30). All the time related to surgery and postoperative recovery, incidence of postoperative diseases, and the anxiety and depression scores were compared between the two groups. Result: Ultrasonic examination showed that all the stones were discharged smoothly. Compared with traditional group, the rehydration time, the time of first exhaust and first defecation were significantly shortened; the incidence of hypothermia and postoperative fever and bleeding were significantly reduced; the anxiety scores were significantly decreased. Conclusion: It is safe and effective to apply ER concept in PCNL operation, which can improve the comfort, promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function and physical fitness, and do not increase the postoperative complications.
