Abstract
Tunable metasurface plays a crucial role in the modulation of infrared. And the flexible substrate realizes the possibility for mechanical tuning without additional electronic equipment. Based on the nanoscale metasurface, a tunable infrared absorber is designed and simulated with a
narrow-band absorption peak of 75.6% at 18.4 THz. A silver structure is embedded in the PDMS flexible substrate. Through the simulation of CST software and the analysis of the RLC model, it is evidenced that the infrared absorption spectrum of the metasurface appears an obvious redshift, with
the increase of area. When the flexible metasurface is stretched by 132%, the frequency of absorption peak moves to 16.4 THz, which still stays above 75%. Based on stretchtuned metasurface, the absorber is expected to be applied in displacement sensing, infrared detection, and other fields.
