Abstract
To produce a composite edible antibacterial preservative film with active extracts of Qinglongyi. The addition of Qinglongyi ethanol extract, zein, and SA produced a composite edible antibacterial preservative film. Physical, mechanical, antibacterial, and fruit weight loss rates were
tested to determine the best parameter combination. The findings revealed that under the conditions of 80 mg/mL Qinglongyi ethanol extract, 70% zein ethanol aqueous solution, and 45 °C drying temperature, the composite film reduced strawberry weight loss rate to 8.38% for five days, which
was about 5% lower than the control group, while the WVP reached the lowest level at 0.47 (g ·mm·m−2·h−1·kPa−1), elongation was at the break of 199.92% compared with traditional PE preservative film (only around
40%), and an antibacterial effect on E. coli, S. aureus and Penicillium. The composite film had a good preservative effect, so the commercial application prospect is promising.
