A New 3D Sm(III) Compound: Photocatalytic Property and Application in the Treatment of Osteoarthritis of the Foot and Ankle

Abstract

A new Sm(III) compound, namely [Sm2(tci)2(H2O)2(e-urea)]n·2n(DMA) (1, H3tci = tri(2-carboxyethyl) isocyanurate, DMA = N,N’-dimethylacetamide, e-urea= 2-imidazolidone), has been solvothermally synthesized from the flexible tricarboxylate ligand of H3tci. Under UV-light irradiation, compound 1 possesses superior photocatalytic activity for the degradation of MV solution. The role of the compound in the treatment of osteoarthritis of the foot and ankle was investigated. The levels of inflammatory cytokines in synovial fluid were determined by ELISA. The activation of the AMPK inflammatory signaling pathway was detected by real-time RT-PCR.
