Abstract
Violence is an important public health problem that continues to exist in all areas of life and its incidence is increasing in the world. It is known that domestic violence is an important problem that threatens women's health both in the world and in our country. Domestic violence not only affects women's health physically, mentally and socially, but also threatens sexual and reproductive health. The main negative effects of domestic violence on women's health; physical traumas, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, alcohol and substance abuse, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), abnormal vaginal bleeding, unwanted pregnancies, deliberate abortions and pregnancy complications. Nurses, who are in close contact with all segments of the society, have important duties in preventing domestic violence against women. In this context, this review was written by scanning the current national and international literature, and it was aimed to examine the effects of domestic violence on women's health and nursing approach.
