Abstract
The present study was designed to test the growth of aural and visual perceptions of musical elements. A fourth grade class was chosen as the experimental group, with five other fourth grade classes serving as the control group. The experimental group participated in a one-year program of creative processes and experiences in music, while the control group participated in the traditional music education program. A comparison of pretest and posttest scores revealed significant gains by the experimental group on both aural and visual perception tests.
