Abstract
In this study, it is aimed to put forward the relationship between digital game addiction levels and religiousness levels of adolescent individuals. Another aim of the study is to reveal the relationship between various variables such as age and gender and addiction level. It is important because it is the first study to examine the relationship between digital game addiction and religiosity in Turkey. Within the scope of the study, “Personal Information Form”, “Digital Game Addiction Scale for Children” and “Religious Attitude Scale” were applied to 478 middle and high school students studying in Şahinbey District of Gaziantep province and the data were analyzed in SPSS 25.0 program. At the end of the study, a negative and significant correlation was found between adolescents' level of digital game addiction and their level of religiousness. Furthermore, compared to demographic variables and digital game addiction scores, it was observed that the level of digital game addiction significantly differed according to the variables of gender and age. The total score of digital game addiction and the scores of girls in sub-dimensions were higher than boys. In the age variable, the addiction levels of 17 years old were found to be higher than the other ages. The results obtained are largely similar to previous studies.
