SYSTEM DYNAMICS APPROACH AND ITS USAGE IN SOCIAL SCIENCES

Abstract

System dynamics is a dynamic analysis method that examines the complex relationships between events and the nonlinear connections between these relationships and is used in social sciences as well as in fields such as mathematics, physics, engineering, and urbanization. System dynamics provides the opportunity to accurately evaluate and model the current state of the problem subject to analysis and offers the opportunity to test the problem under different scenarios. This facilitates decision-making processes and provides managers with the opportunity to keep up with the dynamism of the age. In the study, the system dynamics approach, which has been used effectively in social sciences in recent years, and the system thinking that forms the basis of system dynamics are explained in detail. Afterward, a literature review on system dynamics was made and studies in social sciences were mentioned.
