1. Thomas L Richie is an infectious disease specialist and biologist working as a research consultant in vaccine development. He recently retired from active duty after 21 years of service in the US Navy Medical Corps, having led the Navy Malaria Program 2004–2010 and the US Military Malaria Vaccine Program 2010–2013. Early in 2014, he will assume the position of Chief Medical Officer at Sanaria Inc. (MD, USA), a biotechnology company developing the world’s first injectable whole-sporozoite malaria vaccine.
2. Joanne M Lumsden is an immunologist working as a scientific project manager with the Navy Malaria Program. She is interested in the evaluation of immune responses to vaccines and the identification of immunological correlates of protection.
