2. Roberto Chiesa is a Professor in Materials Science and Engineering in the Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering ‘G. Natta’ in Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy. In 2009, he was elected President of the Italian Society for Biomaterials, and is currently member of the council of the European Society for Biomaterials.

Sophia Sangiorgio has been a researcher in orthopedic biomechanics research since 1999, and currently on faculty in the Orthopedic Biomechanics and Mechano-Biology Research Lab at the Orthopedic Institute for Children (formerly Orthopedic Hospital) in alliance with UCLA.
