1. Nunzia Scotti is a research scientist at the National Research Council of Italy (Portici). Her research is focused on several aspects of biotechnology and genetics of vegetable crops. She is an expert in molecular analyses of cytoplasmic organelles in plants, chloroplast transformation used to express several recombinant proteins, and gene expression in plastids of higher plants.
2. Edward P Rybicki has worked on plant viruses for more than 30 years, and on human papillomaviruses and HIV vaccines and plant production of vaccines for more than a decade. He currently works at the Biopharming Research Unit at the University of Cape Town (South Africa). His laboratory presently concentrates on the use of plants to produce protein biologics, but also has expertise in bacterial and animal cell systems as well as with DNA vaccines.
