Abstract
Due to the historical background of China, the land system in China possesses urban-rural dual characteristics and different land property right compared to other countries. This uniqueness matched China’s land allocation but still evolve throughout the development of the country. In this paper, we will discuss the impact of land property right on China’s rural-urban migration through the government’s angle and the market’s angle with the help of a database from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) national statistical survey. Further analysis on future policies will also be provided.
