A new characterization of PSL(3,q)

Abstract

Let G be a group. In this paper, we prove that G is isomorphic to PSL(3,q) if and only if |G|=|PSL(3,q)| and m(G)=m(PSL(3,q)), where q is a prime power and m(G) is the maximal order of elements in G.
