Perceptions of International Fieldwork Experiences on Professional and Personal Development for OT Students

Abstract

Abstract Date Presented 03/31/2022 International fieldwork experiences allow OT students to develop valuable skills. This study examines the differences in OT student perceptions regarding personal and professional growth after a Level I fieldwork experience in Jamaica. Students were surveyed, and a statistical analysis was conducted. The findings suggest that international fieldwork is related to perceived personal and professional development, regardless of the amount of prior didactic coursework completed.
