Abstract
ABSTRACT From a historical, theoretical, and non-empirical perspective, this study aims to trace the emergence and delimit the characteristics of the Narodnik movement in Russia during the second half of the 19th century to understand how this movement used propaganda and the press, focusing our analysis, especially, on the figure of Alexander Herzen, who historians deem the father of Russian populism. Moreover, we investigate the relation between this movement and the political propaganda which emerged at this time via an extensive literature review.
