Abstract
AbstractMuriel Agnes Arber (1913–2004) was a female geologist of our time. However, she drew her energies from traditional sources, her family and their contribution to academic science, and the Geologists' Association. She benefited from the town and gown life of Cambridge and the influence of frequent visits to Lyme Regis, where family and science were drawn together, and where she met people to whom she could relate. This paper explore-these aspects of her life from a personal point of view.
