Abstract
SynopsisA number of new examples of zoned associations of talc, actinolite, chlorite, and biotite appear to have been derived by reaction during regional metamorphism of moderate intensity between small ultrabasic masses and more acid country rock. The formation of the most abundant type of zone was governed by diffusion of Mg. Although the zone-forming processes have not proceeded to equilibrium, there are some indications of a degree of attainment of local equilibrium.
