Abstract
During a survey of the coprophilous zygosporic fungal diversity in the State of Pernambuco, Brazil, Coemansia erecta was recovered from dung of Cavia porcellus (guinea pig). This is the first record of this species in South America. Images and a description of the Brazilian
specimen are presented and discussed. An identification key for species of Coemansia from South America is provided.
