Nickel Substituted Skutterudites: Synthesis and Physical Properties

Abstract

AbstractStarting to CeFe4Sb12 and trying to obtain low gap semiconductors with very low thermal conductivity, we have performed in this compound the substitution of Ni for Fe.This substitution induces a reject of cerium from the structure. In this paper we present synthesis and physical properties of CeyFe4-xNixSb12 in which a relationship is existing between x and y to retain the electronic account giving semiconducting character.
