Abstract

Based on the synthesis of cardinalist and ordinalist approaches to measuring economic processes and phenomena and based on the data of 167 countries for 2020 year, we performed the analysis of the relationship between the indicator of GDP per capita, PPP (current international $) and the human capital index. The results of the analysis show that Belarus and Ukraine have higher potential for economic development in comparison with other analyzed countries due to the accumulated level of human capital. Ceteris paribus, due to the accumulated level of human capital in these two countries, it is possible to increase GDP per capita at PPP in current prices in international dollars by 89,4 % and 127,4 %, respectively.
