Abstract
This paper describes an expert system aid for the teaching of the root locus method. In the expert system root locus plotter described, rather than use conventional root finding algorithms, traditional sketching rules and developed equations for locus branches off the real axis in the s-plane are embodied within an expert system in its knowledge base.
