Abstract

This study investigated the optimization design methods for automotive wheel hub structures based on lightweight and economic considerations through static and modal analyses. A comprehensive static analysis and modal analysis of the automotive wheel hub were conducted using finite element analysis to understand its response characteristics under load. In order to optimize the structure of the wheel hub, the lightweight design is also considered on the premise of ensuring the reliability of its stiffness and strength. By appropriately setting the initial conditions and boundary conditions, the deformation and stress distributions of the optimized wheel hub were obtained for various loading positions. The modal analysis results showed that the vibration frequencies of the optimized wheel hub avoided external excitation frequencies, meeting the design requirements. Further analysis of the lightweight effect of the wheel hub was conducted, and a lightweight material replacement scheme was proposed. Ultimately, the rationality of the optimized wheel hub’s strength and vibration performance was validated through comprehensive static and modal analyses.
