Applied Level of Sustainable Devlopment Requierment in Jordanian Sports Club from Tue Point of View Members of the Board of Directors

Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to identify the level of application the Jordanian sports clubs to the requirements of sustainable development according to axes related to economic growth, human and environmental development, and the amount of institutional support provided to achieve sustainable development, according to the opinions of directors boards members in the Jordanian sports clubs, as they are the ones who draw the clubs policies and achieve their goals.   Method: The study sample consisted of (90) members of the directors’ boards in Jordanian clubs, where their averages were as follows (age 44 ± 9 years, administrative experience 9 ± 4 years), The researchers used a questionnaire consisting of 6 axes with a total of 36 items distributed among the axes of the questionnaire.   Results: The level of application of Jordanian sports clubs, according to the viewpoint of their directors boards members  for sustainable development, came with a low degree in the axes of economic growth, human development, financial resources and the effectiveness of their use, benefiting from the available capabilities, integration between development and environmental sustainability, while the level of institutional support in sustainable development came medium, while the overall score was low.   Conclusion: The need to move towards the privatization of Jordanian sports clubs and the need to set conditions for the persons allowed managing Jordanian sports clubs to ensure that they have sufficient expertise and information to direct the clubs towards achieving sustainable development.
