1. William Damon is professor of education and director of the Center on Adolescence at Stanford University, as well as a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution on War, Revolution, and Peace. His books include “The Moral Advantage” (2004).
2. Anne Colby is a Senior Scholar at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, where she codirects the Preparation for the Professions Program and the Political Engagement Project. Her latest book is “Educating Citizens: Preparing America's Undergraduates for Lives of Moral and Civic Responsibility” (with Thomas Ehrlich, 2003).
3. Kendall Bronk is a graduate student in child and adolescent development at the Stanford University School of Education. Her current research examines the role a sense of purpose plays in the lives of adolescents.
4. Thomas Ehrlich is a Senior Scholar at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, where he codirects the Political Engagement Project and the Foundations and Education Project. He has been a Fellow of the American Academy since 1996. He is coauthor most recently of “Educating Citizens” (2003).
