1. Tanja Aitamurto is Deputy Director and a postdoctoral Brown Fellow at the Brown Institute for Media Innovation at the School of Engineering at Stanford. She examines how collective intelligence, whether gathered by crowdsourcing, crowdfunding or co-creation, impacts product design, particularly media innovations, and journalism and governance. 2. Dónal Holland is a Lecturer in the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at University College Dublin, and a Visiting Lecturer at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The work presented here was conducted while he was a PhD student in the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Trinity College Dublin.
3. Sofia Hussain holds a PhD and a Masters’ degree in Product Design from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Her research focuses on co-creation and the relationship between human beings and new technology. She has worked with participatory design in developing countries for several years. Currently she works as a researcher at the Intervention Center at Oslo University Hospital and as an interaction designer at Finn.no.
