Abstract
The study aimed to design and synthesis of new benzoyl pyrazole derivatives having a 6,8-dibromo-2-phenyl quinazolin-4-one moiety and their potency as antimicrobial agents by Agar Cup method were described. Several of these novel compounds showed good antibacterial and antifungal activity than standard drugs like Streptomycin and Fluconazole respectively. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of these new compounds were evaluated. The results indicated that compounds 2i and 2a displayed potential antibacterial activities against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia Coli. respectively which shows that they were more active than the commercial standard drugs like Streptomycin. Moreover, 2i showed good anti-fungal activity than the standard test-drug like Fluconazole also. The chemical structures of newly synthesized benzoyl pyrazoline derivatives were characterized on the basis of IR, NMR and spectral data as well as physical data.
