Abstract
The aim of the present study is to identify the factors influencing the career aspiration of the students in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh state in India. Data were collected from (N = 1000, Age = 15 to 18 years) higher secondary school going students. Student’s gender (Male and Female), Birth category (Tribal and Non-Tribal) and parental involvement were taken as the independent factors to predict their career aspiration. Hierarchical multiple regression model was used to analyze the results. Results of the study revealed that the birth category of the adolescents significantly predict the career aspiration (F (1,997) = 13.271, p<0.05). However, gender and parental involvement of the students didn’t show any significant influence on the career aspiration of the students. Implications and future directions of the study were also discussed.
