Abstract
In recent pandemic different category of people have been affected both by socially and economically. Migrant workers are also not exception to this situation. Migrant workers for their upliftment have migrated from their home town to places with good industrialization and infrastructural facility. They migrate singly or with their family. This Survey was undertaken to understand which difficulties were faced by migrant workers during the Pandemic, it is also aimed to understand which difficulties they have faced to get the health services and HIV/AIDS services. For the survey, two industrial area of Ahmedabad City of Gujarat State viz Piplaj and Kathwada were selected. From each industrial area 75 people were interviewed and totally 150 respondents’ reviews were collected.
Migrant workers were heavily affected due to Pandemic, during and after the lockdown they have to face problem of earning, transport facility for movement to native place and medical facilities access etc. During lockdown, migrant workers also struggled for going to and fro to home town due to stoppage of transport services, no ration for the family - no medical services due to no income. After end of lockdown getting regular work and timely wages were additional problems.
