Abstract
This article is the result of an apparent stalemate between member States, as well as employers' and workers' representatives regarding the appropriate action to take with respect to the Holidays with Pay Convention (revised) 1970, No. 132. The Convention has been examined in the context of the Working Party on Policy regarding Revision of Standards which had requested the International Labour Office to undertake an inquiry regarding the possible obstacles to and difficulties in ratification. The status questionis indicates a need for a further analysis of the trends and developments which might affect the ratification level of the Convention, in order to clarify its prospects for further ratification, and to identify the main obstacles and difficulties reported. This short survey aims at responding to this need and is intended to serve as background for a further discussion by the Governing Body as to the appropriate action to take with respect to Convention No.132.
