Abstract
This paper focuses on the technique for managing both the behavior of port mooring facilities and vessel docking events using commercial IoT sensors. An IoT sensor was installed on the concrete caisson quay wall in Incheon Port and monitored at a sampling rate of 100 Hz. The measured data were transmitted to a cloud server every 10 minutes via LTE communication. The amplitude of the data significantly increased during vessel arrivals, allowing for the identification of vessel docking and departure times. Additionally, considerable vibrations were intermittently detected while the vessel was moored. Frequency domain analysis revealed different peak frequencies depending on the vessel type, enabling the distinction of vessel types. These results demonstrate that commercial IoT sensors can be effectively used not only to ensure the safety of the structures themselves but also to monitor events such as vessel arrivals and departures.
