Abstract
Factor analysis of data from 493 college students gave three dimensions of loneliness derived from the UCLA Loneliness Scale. Lonely and less-lonely persons on each of the three dimensions were compared on their pattern of movie attendance, frequency of attendance, how far in advance they decided to go to the movies, and the size of the attendance unit. Significant differences were found only for the attendance unit.
