Abstract
A guide for interpreting other-sex scores on Strong-Campbell Interest Inventory Occupational Scales was proposed. The guide was based on the rationale that other-sex Occupational Scale scores should be interpreted only if scores on relevant General Occupational Theme scales are at the mean or higher on same-sex criterion group norms (persons on whom the Occupational Scales, were constructed). The analysis showed that a General Occupational Theme score of 55 based on combined-sex general norms identified 91% of the General Occupational Theme scores which fall at the mean or higher on same-sex criterion group norms. The score of 55 was considered a satisfactory cut-off for interpreting scores on other-sex Occupational Scales.
