Abstract

A review is presented dealing with factors other than purely cognitive or perceptual which affect (usually deleteriously) schizophrenics' performance on laboratory tasks. Physiological and psychological responsiveness, stimulus factors, response predispositions and reinforcement classes are discussed. It is concluded that the literature currently provides few clear conclusions but points to problem areas requiring immediate attention.
