Abstract
Responses of 307 male and 842 female Filipino university students to the California Psychological Inventory were related to measures of sex, socioeconomic status, family size, quality of family relationships, intelligence, level of academic aspiration, and school achievement. A multiple R of 0.34 was found between personal adequacy as measured by the inventory and these antecedents. The main contributors to the prediction of personal adequacy were intelligence, quality of family communication, own academic aspiration, sex, and socioeconomic status.
