Abstract

The generality of the role of imitation learning with respect to humor responses was examined in 48 college students. The students were exposed to either no model, a laughing model, or a nonlaughing model before reading magazine cartoons alone. The students who had observed a laughing model laughed more than the students who had observed a nonlaughing model or no model.
