Abstract
Considering anxiety to be a major debilitative factor among high-risk students, an attempt was made to evaluate the effectiveness of relaxation training on students' persistence and academic performance. Although 15 EMG-biofeedback subjects showed greater persistence (contact hours) than the 14 subjects given progressive relaxation, both techniques had beneficial effects on academic performance compared to 12 no-treatment controls.
