Difference between Own and Friend's Socioeconomic Status as a Predictor of Psychological Differentiation

Abstract

It was hypothesized that the difference between own and friend's socioeconomic status would be a better predictor of psychological differentiation than either variable would be separately. The hypothesis was supported by reanalysis of published data. Findings are discussed in terms of self-selection of environments.
