Abstract
By means of an eye-marker camera, films were taken of the proportion of time Ss spent fixating the more complex (MC) alternative of visual patterns exposed in pairs for 25-sec. intervals. It was expected that under the effects of 10 mg. d-amphetamine, an arousing agent, Ss would reduce the proportion of time spent attending to the MC alternatives. Instead, the shift was in the opposite direction. The results were discussed in terms of “free” and “forced” exploration.
